What Shall I Call You, My Lord?

Here is another song. I realize that this one and the one I posted before it are fairly long so I understand if you don’t have the time to read them all. But if you do have the time, please read them and comment. This one is the first draft, so the writing may be a bit rough and such, so if you find something that doesn’t seem to fit or is grammatically wrong or something, then please post a comment.

What shall I call you, my Lord?

Verse 1

Maybe The King of Kings,
The Lord of Lords,
or the God of Gods,
who reign over all the earth?

Verse 2

Or perhaps The Great Savior,
The Lamb who was slain,
or God’s Only Son,
whom he killed to save the elect?

Verse 3

What of The Holy Spirit,
or Holy Ghost,
who reign in the hearts of men,
and brings the Word to sinners?

Verse 4
What if I say The Trinity,
Three in One,
who together hold dominion
over all you have created?

Verse 5
If I call you my Father,
Savior,
and Holy Spirit,
who live as The Trinity,
will you acknowledge my words?

Verse 6
What shall I call you, O Lord?
Your name is infinite,
and overflowing with glory.
What name can I speak of you with,
which will not bring you dishonor,
and will succeed to bring you glory?

Verse 7
What shall I call you, my Father?
I am but a man,
and have only one name.
But your name is spoken
by a crowd of tongues and words.
Man cannot describe your name with words,
but in attempt,
they call you a multitude of Glorious Names.

Verse 8
What shall I call you, Great Savior?
No tongue nor name is adequate,
to speak of your Great Love.
But your name is spoken with reverence,
in many different ways,
so that men can call you Lord.

Verse 9
What shall I call you, Holy Spirit?
You who dwell in my heart,
as love dwells in a lover’s heart,
how can you be described?
What can I say,
while attempting to speak your name,
that will bring glory and honor to you?

Verse 10
What shall I call you, my Lord?
I am but a Creation,
and You are The Creator.
You are the Lord of Hosts,
The Lion of Judah,
and Spirit of God,
The Trinity.
Nothing can truly describe your glory!
These words that we speak,
to refer to your Name,
are only hints of your Infinite Glory!
What can I call you without fear of disrespect?

How Can You Lord?

I just thought to put this up, I may put stuff up every now and then but only when I have something that I want to post. I wont commit myself to posting though.

The chorus is meant to be sung or repeated after every verse (it is not in music though, I am not a musician and have only recently started learning music). The idea for this came from something that was happening a while ago in my life and afterwards I decided to write it down as a song/poem. If you have any comments, please post them. BTW, when I speak of damnation I am speaking of the biblical meaning of it, being thrown into Hell.

Verse 1
How can you forgive me so?
How can you love me Lord
when all I seem to do is sin?
You say to me Lord,
that you hate the sin I do.
So how Lord?
How can you love me so?

Chorus
Forgive me Lord!
I have sinned, my God!
Rebelling against you
with my very thoughts.
My Eternal Lord,
I have sinned!
Love me God!

Verse 2
I am the worst,
the worst of all your works.
Only you my God can know,
know how wicked I am!
How is it that you love me?
The worst of your creation!

Verse 3
Damn me Lord!
Suffer for me no more!
Send me to Hell in your place!
I ask of thee my God,
die no more for me!
I will suffer for my sin!

Verse 4
I plead to you Lord,
do not take my place!
I do not wish for your death!
I nailed you to the cross!
I gave you over to die!
Do not die for me Lord,
I will face the wages of my Sin.

Verse 5
I love you my Eternal Lord!
Give me damnation in your stead!
Do not save me from my sins.
Suffer no more for me.
No more pain bear for me!
I love you my Christ!

Verse 6
How can you suffer so?
Why do you die for me?
How can you bear the Wrath,
of your Father, The Holy God,
because I have sinned?
Why do you Love me so?

Verse 7

Why do you bear the constant pain,
of my sins on your back?
How can you love me,
a sinner?
Only you can know,
how wicked I truly am.
How can you suffer for me?

Verse 8
I now know why,
you suffer so.
It is because you are Jesus.
The Savior, Emmanuel, and Son.
Because your very being is,
infused with the Love of God!

Verse 9
I thank you Lord!
O my God,
I now know that you will die,
for me no matter what I say!
I am Saved!
I am yours!
I give you thanks my King!

Shutting down the blog.

I have decided that I am going to shut down this blog. I realized that I didn’t have a purpose for this blog when I started it and it seems to be going in no specific direction. As my dad said, “If you don’t have a purpose for blogging, don’t.” If I find later that I have reason to blog again and have a purpose for blogging I may start to blog again. But for now I have found that I do not.

I will leave this blog up for 10 more days and then I will delete it.

Edit: I am instead just going to leave this blog up so that in case sometime later I do want to start blogging again I wont have to create another blog. Even though I will not delete it I will not be posting here either.

Reformation NOW

Before I post my next post about Living By the Book, I am first going to tell you why I have been gone for the past few days and what I’ve been doing.

Our youth group has an event that is does every year called Reformation NOW. What it is is a time of learning, fellowship, and fun. We had four 30-40 minute sessions about ‘Respectable Sins’ (sins that we tolerate). As well as various other times of study all focused on the idea of ‘Respectable Sins’ and a few specific ‘Respectable Sins’, which were pride, idolatry, and the tongue.

The main point Reformation NOW is to have fun and fellowship amidst learning and studying. There were eight guys including me and the youth pastor, and anywhere from ten to twenty-five girls (I don’t know how many there were except that there was probably at least twice as many as the boys).

I had plenty of fun and enjoyed the learning and studying of God’s Word.

So, that is what I have been doing on September 19-21 of the year 2008!

Living by the Book, By Howard G. Hendrcks, and William D. Hendricks.

I am currently reading a book written by Howard G. Hendricks and William D. Hendricks named Living by the Book. According to the caption on the front cover this book is about, “The Art and Science of Reading the Bible,”* which I believe is accurately stated.

This book consists of 48 chapters and six sections besides the introduction section.

On the back of the book the purpose and overview of it is given:

With this classic book, recently updated and expanded, Howard and Bill Hendricks invite you on one of the greatest adventures of your life—the journey through Scripture. In the Bible you can interact with a living God who wants a personal relationship with you. And no special skills are needed. if you can read, you can glean important insight from Scripture.

Living by the Book will help you engage God’s Word like never before. in simple step-by-step fashion, you’ll learn how to:

Observe. Let Scripture speak to you individually.

Interpret. Develop the tools to properly understand biblical text.

Apply. Learn how to allow Scripture to transform your life.

Start your journey today.**

During the next few posts I will be discussing this book and how it is helping me in my spiritual life and in my studies of the Bible. I will also be posting more information about this book.

From what I have seen so far this is a great book, but before I suggest it to anyone I will finish reading it.

Baptism

Today two of my sisters were baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as a outward profession of an inward belief, the belief in the Lord.

Anna Edwards, age 15, and originally from Kazakhstan gave her testimony in front of the congregation and professed her faith in the Lord.

Naomi Edwards, age 17, and originally from Vietnam also gave her testimony of her salvation. Another girl from our church was baptized along with them although I will not give her name as she has not said that I may.

Please pray for each of these young believers as they struggle to carry out the will of God and to bear the fruit of the Spirit.

Been busy.

I’m sorry for not having posted for so long. I have been busy with school and other such stuff and have not had enough time to write a post, nor do I know what to post about. If you have a suggestion for a topic please comment and I will do my best to answer you.

I’ll try to post something soon, but I’m not sure exactly when that will be. Although it will be soon.

What is it like to be the youngest in a family with 11 kids?

My mom suggested to me to post about what it is like to be in a family that has 11 kids, and to live with 10 siblings who are from different nations from all over the world. Instead of just posting a lot about what it is like with me stating things, I thought that I would make it a discussion. You can ask questions about what it is like and I will answer to the best of my ability. This would be better than for me to say a lot of things about what you may not want to know, doing it this way you can ask specific questions and get specific answers.

So, ask away! :)

Blog Award!

I got a Blog Award from my Mother at www.lightinearthenvessels.blogspot.com! So, here are the official rules:

1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate up to 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the people you’ve nominated.

So, here are my nominations, in no particular order:

I would like to nominate my brother who’s blog is named Youth of Eternity. He is a strong believer of The Rebelution and a member of their forums. To get more details about my brother’s blog, visit it! To get more information on The Rebelution, visit the site!

Another person that I would like to nominate is a friend of mine named Olivia who is also a believer in Christ, and who also believes in the purpose of The Rebelution. To find more out about her, her beliefs, or her blog, just visit it! I’m sure she’ll be happy to receive you.

One more person who I would like to nominate is Josh who is a fellow brother in Christ, although not a brother biologically. He is another one of my fiends… oops…  friends, who owns a blog and believes in The Rebelution. He also goes to the same church as I do

Mike is another one of my nominees, he is a friend who also attends the same church as I, same as Josh. He is another supporter of The Rebelution and a brother in Christ.

Uh, let me see… I know that my mom Awarded me from her personal blog, but let me nominate her adoption blog named Adoption 3:16 which is based of of 2 Timothy 3:16-17 and is designed to help adopting parents and parents who have already adopted to get through the struggle.

Well, it seems that I have run ouit of people to nominate before reaching 7. So if you want to be nominated, ( and I know you ) then just ask. But only up to 2 people… he he he.

Thanks Mom for the Award!
